This course covers the basics of music theory for 1st grade (or equivalent) students. The course covers the musical alphabet, the piano keyboard, the treble clef and bass clef, notes on the grand staff, parts of a note, bar lines and measures, and quarter, half, and whole notes. Time signatures, counting, steps & skips, and dynamics are also covered, as well as aural skill identification of high/low, up/down, and same/different. Taught by Dr. Kathy Rabago.
Teachers: this theory course covers all the material needed for the TMTA state theory test for 1st grade. The course also covers the materials needed for the National Federation of Music Club's Level 1 Theory Test. 5 main lessons (divided into 15 sub lessons) are included in the course. Each main lesson contains a 5-10 minute video covering the concepts, as well as downloadable worksheets for students to practice what they learned.
